How QR code photo sharing works
Two minutes to set up, nothing for your guests to install, and one album at the end of it. Here is every step, from the host's side and the guest's.
For the host
Setting up your event
Done once, before the day. Everything here can be changed afterwards, including while the event is running.
Name it
Whatever your guests will recognise: your names, or the name of the event. It is the first thing they see when they scan, and it is what the album is called afterwards.
Set the date
The day it happens. Guests see it under the event name, which matters more than it sounds when somebody scans a card weeks beforehand and wonders whether they are in the right place.
Add a cover photo
One image, and the first thing anyone sees when the album opens. An engagement photo, a venue shot, or whatever is on the invitations. It can be changed at any point.
Choose what guests can do
Four switches: whether guests can browse the album or only add to it, whether uploads need approving before they appear, whether the disposable camera is on, and whether guests can leave voice messages. All four can be changed later, including during the event.
Pick how it looks
A colour, a font and a layout. Six of each, so the album your guests open looks like your event rather than like software.

What your guests actually do
Four steps, none of which involve installing anything. This is the part that decides whether people use it at all.
They point their camera at the code
The camera app already on their phone. No app to install, nothing to find in a store first.
A web page opens
Your album, in their browser. No account, no login, no password, no email address. The address bar is the proof it is a web page and not an app.
They pick photos and tap upload
Straight from their camera roll, at full quality, as many as they like. They can also take a new photo, use the disposable camera, or record a voicemail instead.
It appears in your album
Immediately, or after you approve it if you turned approval on. Everyone looking at the album sees it at the same time.

The album fills up on its own. These are the parts you might actually touch.

The slideshow
Put the album on a TV or projector and it updates as photos arrive, with the code in the corner. It is what keeps people uploading.

What happens when it is over
The question people ask least and regret not asking most.
The album stays open
One year on Classic and two on Plus, so there is no rush in the week after the event when nobody wants to think about it.
Download the originals
Everything at full resolution, in one go, whenever you like. The album is not the only copy unless you want it to be.
Hide anything, at any point
Approval can be switched on afterwards as well as before, and any single photo can be hidden without deleting it.
Keep collecting
People upload for days afterwards, once they have got home and gone through their camera roll. That is usually the second wave.
Questions, answered
How long does it take to set up an event?
About two minutes. You name the event, pick a theme, add a cover photo and save, and your QR code and link exist from that moment.
Do guests need an app or an account?
No. Guests scan the code with their phone camera, the upload page opens in their browser, and they choose photos and tap upload. There is no download, no account, no username and no password.
When should I set my event up?
Earlier than most people expect. Your QR code exists as soon as the event does, so it can go on save-the-dates and invitations, and printed signage needs lead time. Setting up early also lets you scan your own code and check the whole thing works before the day.
Can I change the theme after guests have started uploading?
Yes. The colour, font, layout, cover photo and all four guest options can be changed at any point, including during the event. Changing the look does not affect the photos already uploaded.
What happens to the album after the event?
It stays open for one year on Classic and two years on Plus. You can download every original at full resolution in one go at any time in that period, and guests keep uploading for days afterwards once they have been through their camera roll.
Can I stop a photo appearing?
Yes. Turn on approval and nothing appears until you have seen it, or leave it off and hide anything later. Both work during the event as well as before it.
Can somebody help me run it on the day?
Yes. Classic includes one co-host and Plus has no limit. A co-host can approve uploads and manage the album without having your account.
